Description

Hidden at the end of a coconut-lined sand road, Sa‘ilele Beach is one of Tutuila’s most tranquil and scenic swimming spots. The far eastern end of the beach features natural rock formations that create a calm, sheltered pool – perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot day. As a village-protected marine reserve, the beach is rich in marine life and remains beautifully unspoiled. The drive in along “coconut boulevard” is a highlight in itself, with towering palms creating a tunnel of green. Be sure to greet locals and ask permission before swimming – it’s customary and appreciated.

Highlights

  • Swim in a natural rock pool sheltered by lava formations
  • Explore a pristine marine reserve with abundant sea life
  • Drive through a stunning coconut-lined sandy road
