Description
This wild and wonderful trail starts from Olosega Village and follows a coastal shoulder between Mata'ala Ridge and Maga Point, eventually revealing a remote coral beach with views across to Ta'ū. Keep the ocean to your right as you weave through overgrown foliage—locals occasionally clear the trail for coconut crab hunting, so conditions vary.
Once at the coast, a short walk left (about 200 m) brings you to the main sandy stretch. If you're feeling adventurous, you can continue on foot along the beach to Leala Point for a longer loop. This is a real favourite of our editor-in-chief, Laura, thanks to its dramatic seascapes and frequent wildlife sightings, especially seabirds.
