Description

One of Tutuila’s most recognisable landmarks, Camel Rock is a 500 ft (150 m) long rocky islet that really does look like a camel rising from the ocean. Whether you see the humps or not, the coastal scenery here is gorgeous, especially from the roadside lookout about 820 yards (750 m) east of Aumi village. No hiking needed – just pull over, snap a pic, and soak up the views. It’s an easy, worthwhile stop on any east coast drive.

Highlights

  • Spot the camel-shaped islet just offshore
  • Take epic coastal photos from a convenient lookout
  • Easy roadside stop with no walking required
