Description
Climb through American Samoa’s wartime past on this short but rewarding uphill walk from Fagatogo. The Blunts Point Trail takes you along a forested gravel road, past a water tank, and up to two massive WWII gun emplacements overlooking Pago Pago Harbor. The first stop offers epic views and a close-up look at one of the coastal defence guns. A bit further up, stairs from the WWII era lead to a second turret hidden in the forest. The trail also links into the wider WWII Heritage Trail for those wanting to go further.
Highlights
- Visit two historic WWII gun sites hidden in the forest
- Get great views over Pago Pago Harbor from the first lookout
- Connect to the broader WWII Heritage Trail if you want more
